In terms of May 9, 2025, the war between India and Pakistan has increased enormously after a series of military clashes and revengeful actions.

🇮🇳 India’s Operation Sindoor

Operation Sindoor was launched by India on May 7 that saw missile attacks on nine targets in Pakistan and Pakistan administered Kashmir. All these strikes were in retaliation to the April 22 attack by terrorists in Pahalgam, Jammu and Kashmir wherein 28 civilians died, and most were Hindu tourists. India said the operation was targeting the terrorist infrastructure associated with groups like Jaish-e-Mohammed and Lashkar-e-Taiba.

Civilian Impact and To Prevent any Future Incursion

The continual conflict harps the loss of civilians on both sides. At least 15 civilians in India have been reported dead following cross border shelling. Pakistan reported civil deaths that resulted from the India’s missile strikes as 31.

India has put several northern states under high alert, including Delhi, Punjab and Rajasthan, after stepping up the threat level. Air-raids sirens were played on May 9th in Chandigarh, a place which was under threat from drone attacks.

International Reactions

The world has been worried about the escalation of the conflict. U.S. Vice President JD Vance said that the US would not intervene and that the situation is description as “none of our business” while both nations are urged to use restraint.

✈️ Disruptions and Precautions

The coexisting war has interrupted the functioning of both countries adversely. In India at least 25 airports in the north and west have been closed until May 10. The Indian AirForce has seized control of Srinagar Airport and halted Civilian operations there permanently. In Pakistan Airspace closure has crashed flights and educational institutions in Punjab and Azad Kashmir have been closed.

The surrounding is still unstable with each country on high alert. More developments are in prospect and the international community is still watching the situation keenly.
