Police in Punjab Break Up a Terror Group Supported by ISI

Punjab Police picked apart and dismantled a terrorist group working with Babbar Khalsa International (BKI), authorities claim was supported by Pakistan’s ISI. During the operation, five operatives were arrested because they were planning a grenade attack in Batala, Punjab.

Jatin Kumar alias Rohan, Barinder Singh alias Sajan, Rahul Masih, Abraham alias Rohit, Sohit and Sunil Kumar are the individuals who have been arrested. As police searched the area, they found a .30 bore gun in the possession of the accused. Jatin Kumar was struck in a battle with the police and is at present in the Civil Hospital in Batala being treated.
The TTP was believed to be controlled by both foreign agents and ISI.
It was Gaurav Yadav, Director General of Punjab Police, who revealed that Maninder Billa and Mannu Agwan in Pakistan acted under the guidance of Harwinder Singh Rinda from the other side of the border. The handlers sent instructions to the operatives, demonstrating the coordinated efforts to disturb the region.
Planned Attack and Safety of People
The module planned to bombard a liquor vend in Batala. The grenade did not go off which prevented anyone from being hurt. Thanks to the rapid response by the Punjab Police, the attack did not happen and those involved were caught, making the public safer.
Legal Proceedings
In Batala’s Civil Lines Police Station, an FIR was made under different parts of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA). Individuals involved in the investigation continue to monitor for connections and work towards stopping any further threats.
