Israel attacks Iranian nuclear weapons facility; Iran retaliates with vengeance
Full-scale war has been threatening the Middle East again after Israel carried out a large scale air attack on Iranian nuclear charges and it responded to the attack with strong force. The escalating war has caused major panic to the world with global authorities urging both sides to scale down their swords.
Israeli Attack Hits The Nuclear Facilities of Iran
Israeli Air Force jets struck in the early hours of Wednesday. These precision air strikes targeted crucial Iranian nuclear facilities such as a purported uranium enrichment plant in Fordow and similar sites outlying Natanz. These underground facilities have always been the epicenter of global distress with regard to the Iranian nuclear aspirations.
Military sources said anonymously that the attack was described and quoted by the Israeli government as being surgical and strategic with the intention to put a stop to Iranian nuclear development without creating the conflict to spread out.
In a televised address Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said:
We are not going to stand till Iran is a nuclear-weaponized country. This attack was justifiable, an adequate response and in the defense of our national security.”
Iran Strikes back in Kind with Missiles and Drones
In a few hours, Iran responded by initiating a volley of ballistic missiles and suicide drones to Israeli territory. A missile also hit close to a hospital in Beersheba injuring at least 14 people and damaging buildings in the area. Air defense systems of Israel intercepted some of the incoming threats, some could not be stopped.
The Supreme leader of Iran Ayatollah Ali Khamenei stated:
This violence will not be unresponsive. The Zionist regime will also come to feel the consequences that it has never imagined.
The network of radical Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is already put on full alert and the state media in Iran boasted they would be ready to stay in the battle long term should they be irritated further
Ordinary People in the Line of Fire
With Iranian and Israeli cities preparing to withhold more attacks, more civilians are getting killed. Thousands of Israeli citizens had to spend their night in bomb shelters, and according to reports in Iran, at least twelve people have been killed during the first Israeli air strikes.
Regional air travel has been brought to a halt and the world oil markets responded dramatically with a crude price surge over 100 dollars per barrel in panic over the chain of supply.
Internation Community Pressures to Show Restraint
Leaders of the world have taken a serious concern regarding the violence that is worsening. The UN Security Council has convened an emergency meeting, and NATO has advised all participants to prevent the war that has the potential to end up engulfing the region.
According to a statement issued by former U.S. President Donald Trump who has now become an important political voice ahead of elections that:
America should be prepared to intervene in case this war will spearhead the world security. Our aim however should be de-escalation.”
In the meantime, Russia and China have denounced the Israeli attack, describing this as a breach of international law and European leaders have urged Iran not to take any further retaliatory action.
So what is in store now?
The analysts are saying that the region is splintering into a danger zone and any more missteps will result in direct military confrontation not only between Israel and Iran, but with the other allies throughout the Middle East region.
As neither of the countries appears ready to give up yet, the diplomatic activity will require an urgent boost before it transforms into a full-scale war, which might affect millions of people and change the world order in every corner of the world
