Shri Badrinath Temple will open its doors at 6:00 AM on May 4, 2025 to begin the Char Dham Yatra season for this year.
The Hindus call Badrinath Dham its home at 10,279 feet of elevation in the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand because Lord Vishnu resides in this temple. It serves as a sacred stop on the Char Dham pilgrimage circuit with Kedarnath, Yamunotri, and Gangotri temples. A large number of devotees from various areas in India will gather to observe the temple doors opening following its winter resting period.
The temple priests conducted an official ceremony to return the Lord Badri Vishal idol from Yog Dhyan Badri Temple in Pandukeshwar back to Badrinath through traditional procession. Religious singing combined with prayers accompanied by local and pilgrim offerings marked the temple transit.
The Badri-Kedar Temple Committee reports that all opening ceremony preparations were finished. Special religious ceremonies through Vedic rituals and pujas will take place in the morning hours right before public access begins to the shrine.
The Uttarakhand government established several safety measures together with convenience solutions for pilgrims through enhanced road systems and online systems for registration while setting up medical facilities and sanitary measures. The area receives focused attention regarding environmental protection and crowd control with emergency preparedness throughout the mountainous terrain.
The state's head of government declared his welcome to all worshippers before asking them to practice caution during the holy expedition while preserving Himalayan nature. The Char Dham Yatra serves as a path of religious devotion and delivers profound spiritual value. The religious establishment receives all devotees with open hearts while offering folded hands of welcome, he stated.
The temple gates will stay open until the beginning of cold weather during October or November 2025 then the annual season of closure will commence.
